Strength in Numbers
Strength in Numbers is a physiotherapist-led fitness program, delivered by Nina, designed specifically for older adults. Sessions are available on a one-to-one basis or in small groups of two to three, allowing for personalised attention and tailored progression. In some cases, a short physiotherapy assessment may be recommended before starting to ensure the program is safe and aligned with your individual needs — this will always be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.
Why Strength Matters

Strength supports everything we do — from lifting shopping bags to getting up from the floor with ease. As we age, maintaining muscle and bone strength becomes increasingly important for overall health, independence, and quality of life.

Research shows that regular, well-structured exercise can help to:

-
Build and preserve muscle mass
-
Support healthy, mobile joints
-
Improve balance, coordination, and stability
-
Boost energy levels and confidence in movement
-
Reduce the risk of falls and related injuries

What to Expect

Each session is led by a qualified physiotherapist and kept small to provide individual guidance and support. Sessions include:

-
Gentle warm-up and mobility work
-
Functional strength training (lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting)
-
Balance and coordination exercises
-
Low-impact conditioning to enhance stamina and cardiovascular health
-
Cool-down and guided stretches

Every exercise is adapted to your current ability and goals — whether you’re new to exercise or already active and looking to build strength safely.

Who It’s For

Strength in Numbers is ideal if you want to:

-
Stay strong, active, and independent
-
Improve strength, mobility, and balance for everyday life

Enjoy training in a friendly, supportive environment

No previous gym or class experience is needed — just a willingness to move and feel better.
